Frequently asked questions

Does PS2Mac come with games?

No. PS2Mac is a library and launcher for your own PS2 games. There are plenty of places to find PS2 games online, but you need to own the games you play. PS2Mac does not host or download them.

Do I need to install a separate emulator?

No. PS2Mac includes PCSX2 and configures it for you in the background. Nothing to install, nothing to tweak.

Will it work on my Mac?

PS2Mac runs on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. On Apple silicon, Rosetta 2 runs the background PCSX2 process. macOS asks to install it the first time.

Can I play offline?

Yes. Playing never needs an internet connection. Only covers and game details are fetched once, and they are kept on your Mac.

Where is my save data stored?

Your library, memory cards, and save states are stored locally on your Mac. Nothing leaves your machine.
